چکیده

XGR (XML Data Grid) and BabelPeers are both data management systems based on distributed hash tables (DHT) that use the Pastry DHT to store data and meta data. XGR is based on the XML data model; BabelPeers uses the Resource Description Framework (RDF) for its data. XGR and BabelPeers have different but complementary functionality. On the one hand, XGR focuses on document-based storage of XML data and publish/subscribe mechanisms, on the other hand, BabelPeers focuses on query strategies that combine pieces of information originating from various sources and provides reasoning about the information. Thus it is valuable to research how the two concepts can be merged to get the best of both worlds.

NATIVE XML DATABASES vs. RELATIONAL DATABASES IN DEALING WITH XML DOCUMENTS

When dealing with data-centric XML documents, it is possible to convert XML documents into a relational database, which can then be queried using SQL. Such relational databases are called XML-enabled databases. On the other hand, the best choice for storing, updating and retrieving document-centric XML documents is usually a native XML database (NXD). NXDs store XML documents as logical units, ...

WebContent: efficient P2P Warehousing of web data

We present the WebContent platform for managing distributed repositories of XML and semantic Web data. The platform allows integrating various data processing building blocks (crawling, translation, semantic annotation, full-text search, structured XML querying, and semantic querying), presented as Web services, into a large-scale efficient platform. Calls to various services are combined insid...

خوشه‌بندی فراابتکاری اسناد فارسی اِکس‌اِم‌اِل مبتنی بر شباهت ساختاری و محتوایی

Due to the increasing number of documents, XML, effectively organize these documents in order to retrieve useful information from them is essential. A possible solution is performed on the clustering of XML documents in order to discover knowledge. Clustering XML documents is a key issue of how to measure the similarity between XML documents. Conventional clustering of text documents using a do...

Utilizing XML Clustering for Efficient XML Data Management on P2P Networks

Peer-to-Peer (P2P) data integration combines the P2P infrastructure with traditional scheme-based data integration techniques. Some of the primary problems in this research area are the techniques to be used for querying, indexing and distributing documents among peers in a network especially when document files are in XML format. In order to handle this problem we describe an XML P2P system th...

Building an Internet-Scale Service For Publishing and Locating XML Documents on PlanetLab

In recent years, there has been a growing interest for peer-to-peer (P2P) based computing and applications. One of the important challenges in P2P environments is to quickly locate relevant data across many participating peers. In this regard, Distributed Hash Tables (DHTs) are a popular solution for building large scale distributed applications due to their scalability, load balancing and faul...
